SO is a voice-call and chat app with AI characters. This page explains honestly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you control it. The Arabic version is the reference text.
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A random device ID | From first launch (guest mode) | To run the free trial and tie your balance and memory to your device |
| Account (Sign in with Apple or email: account ID and email, which may be hidden with Apple) | If you choose to sign in | To keep your balance and memory across devices, and for the "Late-night talks" mood |
| Birth year | When unlocking "Late-night talks" | To confirm you are 18 or older. We don't ask for your full birth date |
| The name you want the character to call you | Optional | Personalization |
| Content of calls and chats (audio recording and text) | While you use the app | To run the service and personalize your experience; stored (see section 3) |
| Character memory: summaries and facts extracted from chats (such as your name, work and city) | After chats | So the character remembers you |
| Usage and subscription: minutes, messages and subscription status | While you use the app | Billing and limits. Payments go through Apple; we never see your card or bank details |
| Technical data: device type, OS, crashes, usage times | Automatically | Running the service and fixing bugs |
| Ad measurement data: which ad brought you to the app, short events (sign-up, first call, purchase and its value), and the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking | Automatically on install and use | Measuring how well our ads work (see section 2) |
We do not collect your contacts, location or photos.
We use trusted service providers to run the app — hosting and storage, AI processing, on-demand search, account and sign-in, and purchases through Apple. They process data only on our behalf, only as needed for the service, and only after your consent in the app, and are bound to protect it at a level no lower than this policy. If you decline, we send nothing to any of them.
Providers: ElevenLabs, OpenAI, Google (Serper), Cloudflare, Supabase, Resend, Apple, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer.
Ad measurement and tracking: We use AppsFlyer to learn which of our ads brought us users. It receives install signals and short events (sign-up, first call, purchase and its value), and shares measurement results with the ad platforms we run campaigns on. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is used only if you allow tracking in Apple's prompt (App Tracking Transparency); you can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. We never send them your chats, recordings, email or name.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else except for ad measurement as described above, or when the law requires it.
From Settings → Privacy in the app:
The app is for people 17 and older; "Late-night talks" is for 18 and older with a signed-in account and birth year. If we learn of an account below that age, we delete it.
Connections are encrypted, access to your data is limited to a small team, and provider keys never leave our servers. No system is 100% secure, and we will notify you if an incident affects your data.
For any material change we show a notice in the app and update the date at the top of this page.
